BI Developer
Chicago, IL – Full Time Position
The ideal Candidate will be responsible for Develops and modifies Business Intelligence solutions independently. Designs data models used for reporting and analytics, develops ETL processes for data, and utilizes BI tools to satisfy end user data needs. Implements large/multiple development projects. Functions as lead on projects. May lead teams. Coaches development of Business Intelligence Developers.
Responsibilities
- Interpret business requirements; design, build and test processes to ensure a high level of data quality and optimal system performance.
- Leads the data design and the creation of database architecture and data repositories.
- Responsible for technical documentation that includes architecture diagrams, process flow diagrams, and prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas.
- Ensures the technical deliverables for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of data warehouse systems and applications.
- Ensures proper balance between front-end systems and back-end processing capabilities.
- Verifies and validates all new software or software upgrades, including development and management of test plans.
- Provides status updates of work progress to project team and management.
- Leads the definition, scope and technical estimates for portions of large complex projects.
- Utilize Business Intelligence tools to build and support dashboards.
- Contribute to the roadmap for Business Intelligence and data transformation solutions for the team.
- Develop a good working relationship with a wide range of stakeholders to design end-to-end experiences.
- Partner with other team members as well as cross-functional partners to support business processes and system solutions.
Qualifications
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
- 3-5 years of experience with SQL / ETL development or BI development tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, prioritizing & interpersonal skills.
- A willingness to learn technology to solve business problems.
- Hands-on experience with both relational and dimensional databases.
- Expertise to own technical aspects of solution and provide guidance to other technical team members.
- Ability to deliver assigned work tasks within project timelines.
- Ability to communicate to project team, business partners and senior management with the appropriate information at each level.
